Black Bavarian Stew Recipe

Nothing says fall more like a stew and adding Sprecher beer to your average stew makes it even better! Here is a delicious fall recipe made with one of our best-selling beers, Black Bavarian. Thanks to our Controller, Andrew for perfecting this recipe!

Total Time: 1 hour

Yields: 3 quarts

Ingredients

1 1/2 lbs braising beef

2 tbsp butter

6 oz raw ham, cut in strips

2 onions, diced

2 tbsp flour

2 cups Sprecher Black Bavarian

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tsp dried marjoram

1 bay leaf

2 tbsp chopped parsley

Vinegar and sugar to taste

A glass dimpled mug full of black bavarian on a countertop

Instructions

1. Wash the beef, pat it dry, and cut it into cubes.

2. Melt the butter in a casserole, and seal the meat in it. Add the ham and the onions, brown briefly.

3. Dust with the four, fry briefly, and add the beer. Season with salt, pepper, and marjoram. Add the bay leaf, cover the meat, and allow to simmer for 45 minutes.

4. Just before done, stir in 1 tbsp parsley and season with vinegar and sugar. Garnish with the rest of the parsley and serve in the casserole. Enjoy!
